What are Granite Pattern Pavers and where should I use them?

Granite pattern pavers are natural granite pieces cut and sized into modular shapes for repeating patterns (herringbone, basketweave, mixed sizes, etc.). They are ideal for patios, walkways, entry steps, swimming pools and commercial plazas because granite is extremely durable and age-resistant. In short, great where you want a high-end, long-lasting paved surface.

Do these granite pavers need to be sealed, and how do I maintain them?

Routine maintenance is sweeping, occasional power washing and refilling joints (polymeric sand or grout) where needed. Granite is naturally low-maintenance. Routine sweeping and occasional washing with mild soap and water is usually enough. Sealing is optional but can help protect against stains in high-use areas.

Are granite pattern pavers slippery when wet — are they safe for steps and driveways?

For exterior use we recommend thermal/flamed finishes and proper jointing to increase slip resistance. Our pattern pavers feature a flamed surface, commonly used on steps and driveways for better traction.

How are granite pattern pavers installed — do they need a special base or frost protection?

Professional installation is strongly recommended. Granite pavers are typically set on a compacted aggregate base (and sometimes mortar for steps), with joints filled (polymeric sand or mortar) and proper drainage. In freeze–thaw climates a deeper base and good drainage are crucial to prevent movement.

How long do granite pattern pavers last, and what factors affect price & lead time?

Properly installed granite pavers can last decades, often 50+ years in high-traffic settings. We carry the most common sizes in stock, available now. Larger or custom orders may require 8-12 weeks.
