Shipping policy
1. Overview & Scope
- Chief Bricks ships reclaimed bricks, Belgian blocks, cobblestones, granite steps, and related hardscape materials nationwide, with samples shipped separately via parcel carriers.
- Orders are shipped either as small parcels (samples and accessories) or as palletized freight via LTL or flatbed carriers, depending on weight, volume, and destination.
2. Shipping Methods & Timing
- Samples ship by ground or priority parcel service and typically arrive within 1–4 business days after dispatch; tracking details are provided by email once the order leaves the warehouse.
- Full pallet orders (bricks, stone, steps, etc.) ship via LTL or flatbed from our yard; typical lead time ranges from 1 to 7 days depending on product availability and distance.
- Most orders leave our facilities within approximately 1–3 business days from the time the order is placed and paid, but exact delivery dates and times cannot be guaranteed, especially for destinations more than 100 miles from Chief Bricks.
3. Freight, Accessorials & Delivery Conditions
- Freight costs for most orders are calculated at checkout based on total weight, dimensions, and destination; very large or complex shipments may require a custom quote, and Chief Bricks reserves the right to adjust freight if the automated rate is materially inaccurate.
- Customers must accurately indicate whether the destination is commercial or residential and whether a loading dock or forklift is available; services such as residential delivery, liftgate, or inside/off‑truck placement may incur additional accessorial charges from the carrier.
- For residential or jobsite deliveries without equipment, liftgate service and curbside delivery can usually be arranged. The driver’s responsibility is to lower pallet(s) to the ground at curbside or the nearest safe point, not to move materials around the property or install them.
- For flatbed deliveries, customers are responsible for having suitable unloading equipment on‑site, such as a forklift or skid steer with forks, and for ensuring sufficient access for the truck to enter and exit safely.
4. Receiving, Inspection & Risk
- An adult must be present to receive freight, sign for the shipment, and inspect pallets at delivery; if there is visible damage or missing items, customers should note it on the delivery receipt and photograph the issue before the driver leaves.
Risk of loss passes to the customer once the carrier accepts the shipment, but Chief Bricks will assist with filing freight claims when damage or loss is properly documented at delivery. - Customers are responsible for having suitable access and equipment on‑site—such as a forklift, skid steer with forks, or sufficient labor—unless liftgate and other services have been arranged and confirmed in advance.
5. Special Locations, Changes & Failed Delivery
- Deliveries to hard‑to‑reach areas (narrow streets, islands, remote locations, limited truck access) may not be available or may require a custom quote and additional charges from the freight provider.
- Once an order has shipped, changes to the delivery address, contact information, or service level are typically subject to carrier change fees and may delay delivery.
- If the carrier attempts delivery and no one is available, redelivery, storage, or return freight charges may apply and are the customer’s responsibility; Chief Bricks will coordinate rescheduling where possible, subject to carrier terms.
